Dawn Landes has it going on…

Although I have very limited musical ability myself, the times in life I have been most inspired have been while watching an incredibly talented musician perform live. And maybe part of it is that the skill is so elusive to me, but more because it’s like watching passion, creativity, dedication and courage in motion.

It brings me to my knees and makes me check in to make sure that I am doing everything in my power to bring those same qualities to my life and work.

My pick of the week is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter named Dawn Landes who I saw perform at an intimate club here in Madison, WI--just one stop on her multi-city tour. It was one of those nights where I didn’t feel like going out (Easter Sunday night!) yet had to drag my husband there because we had made the commitment to some friends.

But we walked in and Dawn had us from the moment she opened her mouth. We were on the edge of our seats the entire performance…unexpectedly and thoroughly entertained. And unexpectedly and thoroughly inspired to live bigger.

I’m happy as pie to share this relatively obscure sensation with you. But I have a feeling, she won’t be obscure for long...
