Most of the soundtrack is performed by Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon who portray Johnny Cash and June Carter in the film.
I think it is important to caution Johnny Cash fans that Joaquin sounds different from Johnny...each need to be enjoyed in their own way. Regardless, the movie soundtrack is an excellent tribute to the film and will make you want to run out and buy every album ever released by the 'man in black'.
