Toxic, addictive, abused, everywhere. This week’s guest—Dr. Robert Lustig, one of our nation’s top endocrinologists—explains the hard facts about the impact of sugar, high fructose corn syrup and yes, even fruit juice on the liver, heart and waistline.

Robert H. Lustig MD is a professor of Clinical Pediatrics, in the Division of Endocrinology and Director of the Weight Assessment for Teen and Child Health (WATCH) Program at UCSF. He graduated from MIT, and received his M.D. from Cornell University Medical College. Dr. Lustig has authored over 85 research articles and 45 chapters and is the Editor of the volume “Obesity before birth: maternal and prenatal effects on the offspring.
