Overcome the “fear factor” of public speaking

Public speaking is ranked as one of the top fears overall, somewhere after snakes and death. If you’d rather lick dirt than speak in front of a crowd, you’re not alone. Here’s great advice from Pat Johnson, the president of Toastmasters, who shares tips on preparation, practice, communication and, most importantly, conquering that fear.

    Hi Kathleen,

First time listener and enjoying your show with Pat Johnson. I don’t know many people, including me, who like to speak in front of people. I’m retired, so don’t have to do this often, but volunteer for a local breast cancer foundation and need to run montly meetings and participate on a Board of Directors. This is very helpful information. I tend to talk on and become unfocused, so keeping these hints in mind will be helpful.
