Rooms that speak to our souls

Kim Colwell

Some people just know how to make any space work. And this week’s caller, Kim Colwell, an LA-based sustainable interior designer (and co-founder of the Shambhalla Institute), is definitely one of those folks. She gives Kathleen her first lesson in Feng Shui and shares the basic principles for making your house (or bedroom, or office or whatever room) more comfortable, creative and peaceful.

Kim ColwellCome on, you know that most of us are afraid to admit that we don’t really know what Feng Shui is either. So listen in as Kim gives us the rundown:

I listen to your interview with Kim Colwell and I thought it was a wonderful show and a lot of
good things came out of it. It makes you feel good to know that there are things you can do right
away to help your self in so many way’s. Kimberly did a wonderful job answering the question that
you had. Keep up the good work both you and Kimberly.

  2. Hi Kathleen,

The interview with Kim Colwell was fabulous! It was light and very comfortable, made me feel as if I was with you two in the room. I thought it was a great intro to Feng Shui and definitely makes me want to rearrange, clean out and get rid of the ‘dead flowers’! I went to Kim’s site afterwards and it is Awesome, loved the before and after pics!

Kim’s explanation in simple terms made the concept of Feng Shui easy to understand and what she said made sense. I think you two did a great job on the show and thank you for sharing!

I will definitely tune in to your show more often!

    • Thank you Aurora. I had so much fun talking with Kim and you can bet your sweet buns I’ve been tweaking away at my own house since then. One thing I did last week that made a big difference was to remove the stuff from under my bed (I had some clothes storage boxes, etc under there). Storing things under the bed is supposedly a big Feng Shui don’t because you want to keep room around the bed for energy to flow. I was skeptical that it would make much of a difference…but wow. Digging my room for the first time in years. I so appreciate your message and the feedback (and I’m glad it helped!). Have a great weekend Aurora.
