But he’ll change…

After nearly 20 years in an abusive marriage, Joanna V. Hunter finally stopped blaming herself and found the courage to walk away. She endured years of criticism, control, mind games and physical violence. With heart-wrenching honesty, Ms. Hunter shares her personal experiences, how her husband systematically tried to suffocate her spirit and destroy her self esteem, and offers advice for other women (or men) who may find themselves in a similar situation.

In this important interview, Ms. Hunter talks about the early warning signs of abusive relationships, offers guidance on how to stop the cycle of violence and shares advice on the difficult steps towards healing. This little-talked-about issue can no longer be ignored.

Joanna V. Hunter is a popular speaker, volunteer, and trainer on domestic violence who works with victims and those who serve them. She is the author of But He’ll Change: End the Thinking That Keeps You in an Abusive Relationship. Her work is informed by her experience as a survivor of abuse.
