What parents need to know.

“Just because a new technology has been invented doesn’t mean we need to run out and get it for our kids.” –Stacey DeWitt, Connect With Kids

More than half of all kids say they’ve been bullied, and over 80 percent say they’ve witnessed it. Now with Facebook, MySpace and texting, kids are facing more situations where bullying can happen. It’s called cyber-bullying and can result in crushed self-esteem and sometimes even suicide. (Kathleen has seen the damage of cyber-bullying first-hand with kids in her own life.)

Stacey DeWitt seeks to educate parents on bullying and how to prevent it in the first place. She talks with Kathleen about the warning signs that your child is being bullied—on the playground or online—and what you can do about it. She also shares advice in the event your child is the bully—teaching empathy through role-playing and communication.
