Middle childhood—Your last chance to hold your child close (before those stormy teen years).

There is a wealth of parenting information out there, most of it focusing on toddlers and teens. But according to expert John M. Drescher, it’s the middle years in between that are most important in a child’s development and well-being.

Kathleen talks to Drescher about his must-read book, When Your Child is 6 To 12. He explains why middle childhood is so important, and how we as parents can make the most of these formative years by bonding with our kids and helping them become well-adjusted teenagers. Get tips on everything from quality time and house rules to the all-important sex talk. If you have kids, especially between the ages of 6 and 12, this one is not to be missed.

John M. Drescher has authored 37 books and hundreds of magazine articles on marriage and parenting. He and his wife Betty are the parents of 5 children, have 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Drescher currently serves as campus pastor at Quakertown Christian School.
